Pat Conroy 1945 - 2016
March 4, 2016 - File - US novelist PAT CONROY, whose best-selling novels include 'Prince of Tides and 'Water is Wide,' has died aged 70. Conroy, who had pancreatic cancer, died at his home in Beaufort, South Carolina, surrounded by family and friends, his wife and publisher said. His works drew from his own experiences of life in South Carolina. He is recognized as a leading figure of the 20th Century's literature of the American South. Suri "Tõusude ja mõõnade printsi" autor
USAs suri 70 aasta vanuses menukirjanik Pat Conroy, kelle teostest on eesti keelde tõlgitud „Rannamuusika“ ning „Tõusude ja mõõnade prints“.
"Tõusude ja mõõnade printsi" ("Prince of the Tides") põhjal väntas Barbara Streisand oma kassatüki „Elu tõusuvetel“.
Abikaasa ja kirjastuse sõnul oli populaarne autor põdenud kõhunäärmevähki ning suikunud igavesele unele oma Lõuna-Carolina kodus lähedastest ümbritsetuna, vahendab BBC News.
